The Lockdown

At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, a parent.

Former First Lady of the United States

For this time, each of us had our plans. Exams will be over, kids will have some break. We can plan our vacation. Shop for the new session. But the future had some other plans for us. We all are living in lockdown for the next few days. Not sure when the lockdown will be over. We don’t know whether we will have our vacation this summer or not or when we will be able to meet our friends. The best part of the whole situation is we are with our families.

Most of us are working from home still have a lot of time to spend with family. We come up with some fun things which we can try during this quarantine.

1) Movie time:

Watch some old classics with your kids. Show them what real cinema was. They may not like the camera work and CGI but will really enjoy the stories. Let your kids choose as well. Watch some from their interests list as well.

2) Good time to chores:

This is a good time to introduce kids with chores. Ask them for small help. This will help them further once they will move out for studies.

3) Play Games:

We rarely get time to play games with our family. Be it board games or online games. Introduce kids to some of the old school games from your childhood.

4) The forgotten calls:

Make those calls to relatives and friends which we usually think about but tend to forget.

5) Reminiscence:

Share stories about your mischiefs and ask your kids what they do when with friends. Try this in the evening sitting on the terrace or balcony.

6) Re-visit hobbies:

Mend your old guitar and teach your children a couple of chords or show them how brilliantly you can cook that one dish you were famous for.

7) Learn new:

Going out or joining a class is not an option, however you have internet, a master class for almost every skill under the sun.

8) Don’t forget the charity:

Explore your wardrobes. Sort out clothes which your family does not wear any more, wash them and donate once the quarantine is over.

The whole world is facing a tough time. Everyone is trying to make it as easy as possible. Be it the online challenges or the meme world, they are trying to keep us elevated.  So dance, sing or meditate, our families are our best hopes and reason to be cheerful even in the current situation. Find ways to make it fun and do share with us the crazy activities you are relishing with your family.
